This blog is designed to fill an enormous need in the market.
Until now there was no free Web publication covering the technology people need to be productive despite their disabilities.
Today's world of computing assumes you have two eyes, good ears, 10 fingers, and the fine manipulation required by a mouse.
Millions don't, and every year millions more join them.
Their challenges differ. Some, like my mom, are blind. Others are deaf, or paralyzed. Others suffer from disease.
But every mind should be whole when it reaches this world. There is nothing preventing it, save money, effort, and (perhaps most important) knowledge.
It is this last gap A-Tech Review will fill.
We will cover the news of this industry. We will identify the vendors and their products. We will review those products. And we will advocate for you, the customer, the client. The person who counts.
I've been a business journalist for almost 30 years. I have covered technology for nearly all of that time. And I have covered the Internet for most of that time.
I will be working the Net, and working the phones, to bring the resources of this industry to you. I welcome your feedback, and your questions. I will answer all of them. Over time, we hope to build a directory of firms and products, becoming the Consumer Reports (if you will) of the industry. Unlike other directories of this type, this one will be free.
Martin will handle the testing. He has been confined to nursing care for some time. He has 140 close friends with him, many of them avid technology users. We plan on giving all the industry's products hard use, and we plan on pulling no punches in our review of them.
Both of us plan to advocate on your behalf, free. You are the person who counts. You deserve better of these vendors, of these products, of this country. We won't keep quiet, and hope you won't either.
Welcome to the new world of ability.

here will probably be some butterflies as well, with three rookies in the Orange & Black lineup (Sean Couturier, Matt Read, and Zac Rinaldo). We expect to see a top line of Claude Giroux centering JVR and Jaromir Jagr. Hoooooo yeah. Danny Briere will likely start by centering Jakub Voracek and either Wayne Simmonds or Scott Hartnell. We think that could be a pretty fluid situation until they find a group with great chemistry.
